WEEK 15: KINGDOM CULTURE AND BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
Day 102 (10 September 2026)
Theme: Truth and Righteousness in Media and Public Discourse
Praying for truth, integrity, wisdom, justice, and responsibility to govern the media and public discourse in South Africa. Praying for journalists, editors, broadcasters, publishers, content creators, commentators, social media influencers, communication professionals, and public voices to recognise the power and responsibility entrusted to them. Asking God to expose misinformation, manipulation, sensationalism, propaganda, and narratives that distort truth or diminish human dignity, while raising voices that communicate truth with courage, accuracy, wisdom, grace, and accountability. Praying that the information shaping public consciousness will contribute to a society grounded in truth rather than fear, division, deception, or cultural pressure.
*All scriptures (unless otherwise stated) are from The Passion Translation (TPT)
Action item 1: Establish truth, integrity and responsibility in media
Proverbs 12:22 “Live in the truth and keep your promises, and the Lord will keep delighting in you, but he detests a liar.”
Ephesians 4:25 “So discard every form of dishonesty and lying so that you will be known as one who always speaks the truth, for we all belong to one another.”
Proverbs 18:21 “Your words are so powerful that they will kill or give life, and the talkative person will reap the consequences.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, We pray for truth and accuracy to be valued above sensationalism, profit, political agendas, personal influence, or public approval. Enable journalists, editors, publishers, broadcasters, and content creators to exercise their influence with integrity and accountability, recognising the power of their words and platforms to shape public understanding. Father, we pray that the fear of God will be upon them, giving them wisdom, discernment, integrity, and a deep responsibility to communicate truth. Let them not be driven by fear, pressure, personal gain, or the opinions of people, but by a commitment to what is true and right before You. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
Action item 2: Expose deception, manipulation and false narratives
Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who replace darkness with light and light with darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter.”
1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 “but be faithful to examine them by putting them to the test and afterward hold tightly to what has proven to be right. 22Avoid every appearance of evil.”
John 8:31-32 “Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. 32For if you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, We pray that all deception, misinformation, manipulation, propaganda, prejudice, and narratives designed to distort truth or exploit fear will be exposed. Increase discernment among those producing and consuming information, and enable South Africans to test what they hear, examine what they are told, and refuse to participate in spreading falsehood. Father, put a guard over the mouths of those producing content. Let them speak with truth, wisdom, integrity, and accountability, and let every word that is intended to deceive, manipulate, or cause fear be exposed and brought to nothing. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
Action item 3: Raise righteous voices that shape public discourse
Proverbs 31:8-9 “But you are to be a king who speaks up on behalf of the disenfranchised and pleads for the legal rights of the defenseless and those who are dying. 9Be a righteous king, judging on behalf of the poor and interceding for those most in need.”
Colossians 4:5-6 “Walk in the wisdom of God as you live before the unbelievers, and make it your duty to make him known. 6Let every word you speak be drenched with grace and tempered with truth and clarity. For then you will be prepared to give a respectful answer to anyone who asks about your faith.”
Matthew 5:14-16 “Your lives light up the world. For how can you hide a city that stands on a hilltop? 15And who would light a lamp and then hide it in an obscure place? Instead, it’s placed where everyone in the house can benefit from its light. 16So don’t hide your light! Let it shine brightly before others, so that your commendable works will shine as light upon them, and then they will give their praise to your Father in heaven.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, Raise up men and women of wisdom, courage, integrity, and biblical conviction across journalism, broadcasting, publishing, digital media, entertainment, social platforms, academia, and public commentary. Enable their voices to communicate truth with grace and courage, promote justice and human dignity, challenge destructive narratives, and contribute to constructive national conversation. Father, let the frequency of Your presence be carried through their voices across media channels and into the atmosphere and homes of people. Anoint their voices with the power and presence of Your Spirit, so that minds and hearts will be drawn to Your truth because of Your presence upon their voices. Let their words carry light, truth, wisdom, and conviction, and let their influence bring glory to Jesus and transformation to our nation. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen,
