Joel 2:12-13 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.” (Consecration through heartfelt repentance and returning to God)

WEEK 12: KINGDOM LEADERSHIP AND INFLUENCE IN EVERY SPHERE
Day 82 (21 August 2026)
Theme: Righteous Leadership in every Sphere
God does not call His people to exercise Kingdom influence only within the Church. His purposes extend into every sphere of society. Government, business, education, family, media, law, healthcare, the arts, community development, and other institutions all require leaders who carry righteousness, wisdom, justice, and integrity. The Church must therefore recognise that God is positioning His people beyond the walls of the congregation. Kingdom leadership is expressed wherever God’s people are entrusted with responsibility and influence. As South Africa continues its journey of restoration, we pray for righteous men and women to arise and faithfully represent God’s values in every sphere.
Action item 1: Prayer that God will raise righteous leaders across every sphere of South African society.
Proverbs 11:10 “When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.”
Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
Matthew 5:14 “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
- Father, in the name of Jesus, we ask that You raise righteous leaders throughout South Africa. Position Your people in every sphere where leadership and influence are required. Raise leaders in government who will pursue justice and serve the public good. Raise leaders in business who will operate with integrity and create sustainable opportunities. Raise leaders in education who will cultivate wisdom and truth. Raise leaders in law who will uphold justice. Raise leaders in healthcare who will serve with compassion. Raise leaders in media and the arts who will use their platforms responsibly. Raise leaders in communities and families who will establish environments of dignity, order, and flourishing. Let Your people recognise that their professional and societal assignments can become expressions of Kingdom responsibility. May righteousness increasingly find representation wherever decisions affecting the nation are being made. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action item 2: Pray that Kingdom leaders will bring God’s values into the environments where they are positioned.
Daniel 6:3 “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.”
Genesis 41:39–40 “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: 40Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.”
Colossians 3:23–24 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
- Lord, we pray in Jesus’ name, teach Your people to carry Kingdom values into the places where You have positioned them. May their faith not be disconnected from their leadership, profession, business, or public responsibility. As Daniel carried an excellent spirit into government and Joseph brought wisdom into the administration of Egypt, raise people who can bring excellence, wisdom, integrity, and godly principles into complex environments. Let Kingdom leaders become known for competence as well as character. Give them the ability to solve problems, manage resources, develop people, and make sound decisions while remaining faithful to Your ways. May their excellence open doors for influence, and may their influence create opportunities for righteousness to be established.
Action item 3: Pray that Kingdom influence will bring transformation rather than assimilation.
Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Philippians 2:15 “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.”
Jeremiah 1:10 “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.”
- Father, protect Your people from becoming assimilated into the environments You have called them to influence. Give Kingdom leaders the courage to remain faithful to Your truth even when the culture around them pressures them to compromise. Let our presence in society bring transformation rather than conformity. Where systems are unhealthy, give Your people wisdom to help reform them. Where practices are unjust, give leaders courage to challenge them. Where environments have become corrupted, raise people who can introduce integrity and righteousness. Teach Your people how to engage society without losing their identity in Christ. Let them become agents of transformation who carry the culture of the Kingdom into the environments where You have placed them. May South Africa increasingly experience the influence of believers who are both present in society and distinct in character. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
