Scriptural Anchors during these 365 Days of Prayer

Joel 2:12-13 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.” (Consecration through heartfelt repentance and returning to God)

Daniel 9:4-5 “And I prayed to the Lord my God, and made confession, and said, ‘O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments.’” (Identification repentance for national sin)
Romans 12:1 “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” (Consecration and surrender)
Psalm 24:3-4 “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully.” (Purity and spiritual preparation before God)

Personal Prophetic Declarations to Pray every day.

NB: Before embarking on these prayers, pronounce these declarations which establish:

  • The Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life (authority and alignment)
  • Justification and covering (blood and righteousness)
  • Protection (Isaiah 54:17 principle)
  • Consecration and separation (holiness and spiritual boundaries)

I declare that my life and all that concerns me is under the Lordship of Jesus Christ (Romans 14:8; Colossians 1:16–18).
I declare that the blood of Jesus speaks on my behalf, and I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (Hebrews 12:24; 2 Corinthians 5:21).
I declare that no weapon formed against me or all that concerns me shall prosper because of these intercessory prayers, in Jesus’ Name (Isaiah 54:17).
I separate myself from all ungodly soul ties, monitoring spirits, and familiar spirits, in the Name of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 6:17; Colossians 2:15). Amen.

WEEK 13: THE CHURCH AS SALT AND LIGHT

Day 91 (30 August 2026)

Theme: Shaping Culture through Righteousness

Praying for the Church to recognise her responsibility to influence the values, beliefs, attitudes, behaviours, and practices that shape South African culture. Praying that the presence of God’s people will cause truth, righteousness, justice, compassion, dignity, excellence, and godly wisdom to become increasingly visible within society. Asking God to raise believers who will intentionally cultivate Kingdom culture wherever they are positioned, rather than allowing the surrounding culture to determine their values and worldview.

Action item 1: Pray for the Church to understand her cultural responsibility.

Matthew 5:13–16 (KJV)13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and [their] ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But blessed [are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.”

Romans 12:2 (KJV) “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Deuteronomy 6:6–9 (KJV) 6 “And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates”.

  • Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, awaken Your Church to the responsibility You have entrusted to us as a people who influence the culture around us. Deliver us from passively absorbing the values of the society in which we live. Teach us to discern what is contrary to Your Word and to intentionally establish what is true, righteous, just, compassionate, and honourable. Give Your Church a renewed understanding that culture is shaped through what we teach, model, celebrate, create, communicate, and pass on to the next generation. Raise believers who will carry Kingdom values into every environment in which they are placed. May we become intentional cultivators of righteousness rather than passive consumers of culture.,

Action item 2: Pray for Kingdom values to shape the public life of South Africa.

Philippians 4:8 (KJV)Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.”

Micah 6:8 (KJV) “He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Proverbs 14:34 (KJV) “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin [is] a reproach to any people.”

  • Father, establish righteous values within the public life of South Africa. Where dishonesty has become acceptable, restore a love for truth. Where corruption has been normalised, restore integrity. Where violence and hatred have shaped relationships, establish peace and reconciliation. Where human dignity has been diminished, restore honour and compassion. Let the values of Your Kingdom become visible in the way people conduct business, exercise leadership, communicate, resolve conflict, treat one another, and serve their communities. Raise a generation that values what You value. Let truth be honoured, justice pursued, integrity respected, compassion demonstrated, excellence cultivated, and responsibility embraced. May righteousness increasingly become part of the moral fabric of our nation. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray.

Action item 3: Pray for the Church to cultivate Kingdom culture through example.

1 Corinthians 11:1 (KJV) “Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ.”

Titus 2:7–8 (KJV) “7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine [shewing] uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.”

Matthew 5:16 (KJV) “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

  • Father, in Jesus Christ’s name, make Your Church a living demonstration of the culture of Your Kingdom. Let our lives preach what our mouths proclaim. May our homes model love and honour, our churches model unity and service, our workplaces model integrity and excellence, and our communities model compassion, justice, and responsibility. Raise mature believers whose lives can be followed and whose example can be reproduced. Let parents disciple children, leaders disciple those entrusted to them, and mature believers intentionally raise others who will carry Kingdom values into the next generation. May the Church not merely speak about transformation, but embody it. Let people encounter a different way of living when they encounter Your people—a culture marked by truth, holiness, love, justice, humility, service, and hope. And may that Kingdom culture spread from person to person, family to family, congregation to community, until the influence of Your people becomes a blessing throughout South Africa.
