WEEK 16: STEWARDSHIP, INNOVATION AND NATIONAL PROSPERITY
Day 112 (20 September 2026)
Theme: South Africa as a Blessing to the Nations
Praying that South Africa will faithfully steward the people, resources, knowledge, skills, creativity, opportunities, and economic capacity entrusted to her by God so that the nation may become a blessing beyond her own borders. Praying for a nation whose prosperity is not consumed solely for itself, but is multiplied through generosity, innovation, trade, knowledge, skills, enterprise, service, investment, development, and practical compassion. Asking God to position South Africa to contribute solutions, resources, expertise, creativity, and wisdom to the nations of Africa and the wider world. Praying that the economic and productive potential of South Africa will increasingly serve God’s purposes, strengthen neighbouring nations, and demonstrate that prosperity becomes most meaningful when it is stewarded as a blessing.
*All scriptures (unless otherwise stated) are from New King James Version (NKJV).
Action item 1: Establish South Africa as a blessing through faithful stewardship.
Genesis 12:2-3“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, 3And I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
Psalm 67:1-2 “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, Selah 2That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, establish South Africa as a nation that understands the purpose of Your blessing. Teach us that what You entrust to us is not merely for our own consumption, but carries responsibility toward others. Give us wisdom to faithfully steward our land, resources, knowledge, skills, creativity, institutions, infrastructure, wealth, and economic capacity. May the things You have placed within South Africa become instruments through which others are strengthened and blessed. Deliver us from selfish accumulation and a mentality of scarcity that prevents generosity. Establish a culture of faithful stewardship in which increase creates capacity to give, serve, develop, build, invest, and contribute. Let Your blessing upon South Africa become visible through the blessing of others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action item 2: Position South Africa to contribute solutions, knowledge and resources to the nations.
Isaiah 60:1-3 “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. 2For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. 3The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Proverbs 11:10-11 “When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices; and when the wicked perish, there is shouting. 11By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is overthrown.”
Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
- Father, position South Africa to become a contributor among the nations. Awaken the nation’s capacity to develop solutions, knowledge, technology, products, services, expertise, and innovations that can strengthen others. Give South African scientists, entrepreneurs, educators, engineers, farmers, artisans, business leaders, creatives, professionals, researchers, and institutions wisdom to develop things that can serve beyond our borders. Let South Africa’s expertise become a resource to Africa. Let innovation become a means of strengthening communities and nations. Let our businesses create value beyond ourselves. Let our knowledge be shared. Let our skills be multiplied. Let our solutions travel. May the good that emerges from South Africa become visible to the nations and cause them to recognise the wisdom, creativity, excellence, and goodness that You have placed within this nation. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action item 3: Multiply South Africa’s prosperity through generosity, partnership and development.
2 Corinthians 9:10-11 “Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.”
Proverbs 19:17 “He who has pity on the poor lends to the LORD, And He will pay back what he has given.”
Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
- Father, multiply South Africa’s capacity to give, serve, develop, invest, and strengthen others. Where You release prosperity, give us wisdom to steward it for generosity and lasting impact. Make South Africa a nation that does not simply accumulate wealth but knows how to deploy resources for meaningful development. Give wisdom to businesses, institutions, investors, government, churches, philanthropists, and communities to form partnerships that create sustainable solutions and strengthen people beyond our borders. Give South Africa opportunities to contribute to the development of Africa. Let trade be conducted with integrity. Let investment create value. Let knowledge and skills be shared. Let resources be used responsibly. Let generosity be expressed with wisdom and dignity. May the increase You give become seed for further blessing, producing thanksgiving to God and tangible benefit to people and nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
