WEEK 12: KINGDOM LEADERSHIP AND INFLUENCE IN EVERY SPHERE
Day 80 (19 August 2026)
Theme: Leading with Wisdom and Discernment
Righteous leadership requires more than good intentions; it requires wisdom and discernment. Leaders make decisions that affect people, families, institutions, communities, and nations. Therefore, Kingdom leaders must learn to discern times, understand circumstances, distinguish truth from deception, and make decisions according to the wisdom of God. South Africa needs leaders who do not merely possess authority, but possess the wisdom to steward that authority well.
Action item 1: Pray that God will give Kingdom leaders wisdom to govern well.
1 Kings 3:9 “Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?”
James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Proverbs 2:6 “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.”
- Father, give the leaders You are raising in South Africa understanding hearts. As Solomon recognised that leadership required wisdom beyond human ability, teach Your people to depend upon You for the wisdom necessary to govern well. Give leaders the ability to understand complex situations, weigh consequences, recognise what is right, and make decisions that serve the good of those entrusted to them. Where leaders lack knowledge, give them understanding. Where circumstances are complicated, give them clarity. Where decisions carry significant consequences, give them wisdom. Let Kingdom leaders become people who seek Your counsel before making decisions and who understand that wisdom is not merely information, but the ability to apply truth rightly. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Action item 2: Pray for discernment to distinguish truth, deception, and the times in which we live.
1 Chronicles 12:32 “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their command.”
Hebrews 5:14 “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
Philippians 1:9–10 “And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.”
- Lord, give Your leaders discernment for the times in which we live. Raise people who can recognise not only what is happening, but what it means and how they should respond. Protect Kingdom leaders from deception, manipulation, misinformation, pressure, and decisions driven by appearances rather than truth. Train their spiritual senses to distinguish between good and evil, truth and error, opportunity and distraction, wisdom and expediency. Give them the ability to recognise what is excellent and what merely appears attractive. May they understand the times and know what South Africa ought to do in each season. Let discernment protect the nation from decisions that appear beneficial in the short term but produce destruction in the long term. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
Action item 3: Pray that Kingdom leaders will seek godly counsel and make decisions with understanding.
Proverbs 11:14 “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
Proverbs 15:22 “Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.”
Proverbs 24:6 “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.”
- Father, deliver Your leaders from the isolation that can accompany authority. Give them the humility to seek wise and godly counsel before making decisions that affect others. Surround Kingdom leaders with people who possess wisdom, integrity, expertise, and the courage to speak truth. Protect them from advisors who flatter, manipulate, conceal truth, or serve personal interests. Establish a culture of wise counsel in leadership throughout South Africa. Let decisions be tested, examined, and strengthened through godly wisdom. Give leaders the humility to listen and the discernment to recognise trustworthy counsel. May their decisions be established through wisdom rather than impulse, pride, political pressure, or personal gain. Raise leadership environments where truth can be spoken safely and where wisdom is valued above ego. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
