When every slot is filled, South Africa will be covered in 24/7 unbroken intercession — crying out for healing, for breakthrough, and for God’s hand to move powerfully across our land.

I declare that my life and all that concerns me is under the Lordship of Jesus Christ (Romans 14:8; Colossians 1:16–18).

WEEK 13: THE CHURCH AS SALT AND LIGHT
Day 90 (29 August 2026)
Theme: Transforming Institutions through Righteousness
Praying for the Church to recognise and embrace her responsibility to influence the institutions and systems that shape South African society. Praying for believers positioned within government, education, business, healthcare, justice, media, civil society, and other institutions to exercise righteous influence with wisdom, integrity, excellence, and courage. Asking God to establish Kingdom values within institutional cultures, practices, decisions, and structures so that they serve people justly and contribute to the flourishing of society.
Action item 1: Raise righteous believers within institutions
Daniel 6:3–5 (KJV) “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. 4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he [was] faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find [it] against him concerning the law of his God.”
Colossians 3:23–24 (KJV) “23 And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
Matthew 5:16 (KJV) “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
- Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, awaken believers in every institution across South Africa to the Kingdom significance of their placement. Let them recognise that their workplace, profession, office, classroom, boardroom, institution, or organisation can become a place of Kingdom influence. Raise Daniels and Josephs who carry both excellence and integrity. Deliver Your people from compartmentalising their faith so that they worship You on Sunday but operate according to worldly values during the week.Let the character of Christ be evident in how Your people lead, make decisions, handle resources, treat people, resolve conflict, and exercise authority. May believers become trustworthy stewards of influence, and may their presence strengthen rather than compromise the institutions in which You have placed them.
Action item 2: Pray for righteousness to influence institutional decisions and practices
Proverbs 29:4 (KJV) The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.
Micah 6:8 (KJV) He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Proverbs 21:3 (KJV) To do justice and judgment [is] more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
- Father, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, let righteousness penetrate the decisions and practices of institutions throughout South Africa. Where corruption has become normalised, establish integrity. Where people have been exploited, establish justice. Where power has been abused, establish accountability. Where vulnerable people have been ignored, awaken compassion. Where systems have become unjust or dehumanising, raise righteous voices and wise leaders who will work toward reform. Give believers courage to challenge practices that violate truth and righteousness, while giving them wisdom to do so constructively and responsibly. Let justice and integrity become more than ideals spoken about; they must become values demonstrated in the way institutions operate. Establish institutional cultures where people are treated with dignity, resources are stewarded faithfully, authority is exercised responsibly, and decisions are made with justice and truth.
Action item 3: Pray for institutions to become instruments of national flourishing
Jeremiah 29:7(KJV) “And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.”
Proverbs 11:10–11 (KJV) “10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, [there is] shouting. 11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked”.
Romans 13:3–4 (KJV) “3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
- Father, cause the institutions of South Africa to fulfil their proper purpose of serving the people and contributing to the flourishing of our nation. Raise righteous people who can identify brokenness within systems and work patiently and wisely toward restoration. Connect people of integrity across government, business, education, civil society, healthcare, justice, and other institutions so that they can collaborate for the common good. Give institutions wisdom to develop policies, practices, and solutions that protect human dignity, strengthen communities, create opportunity, and promote justice. Let the influence of Your Church extend beyond individual acts of goodness into the places where decisions are made and structures are established. May our institutions become increasingly trustworthy, just, competent, compassionate, and committed to serving society. Let South Africa experience the blessing that comes when righteousness influences the structures through which a nation is governed and served. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
- We decree and declare that all evil altars erected in various institutions in the country are destroyed. 2 Corinthians 10:4
- We decree and declare Jeremiah 33:3 and Daniels 2: 22 and 28, that the Lord will reveal all that is hidden in these institutions and those that the Lord has deployed in these institutions will be the light in the darkness.
- We decree and declare that there shall be watchman deployed in these institution who will sound an alarm when unrighteousness prevails. Ezekiel 33:7
- We decree and declare Psalm 34: 15 that the eyes on the Lord will watch over those who are deployed and His ears will be opened to their prayers.
