Joel 2:12-13 “Now, therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, With fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm.” (Consecration through heartfelt repentance and returning to God)

WEEK 16: STEWARDSHIP, INNOVATION AND NATIONAL PROSPERITY
Day 106 (14 September 2026)
Theme: The Earth Belongs to The Lord – Establishing a Culture of Faithful Stewardship:
Praying for South Africa to recover the biblical understanding that the earth and everything within it ultimately belongs to the Lord. Praying that individuals, families, communities, institutions, businesses, and those entrusted with public responsibility will recognise that people, land, natural resources, knowledge, skills, opportunities, wealth, and economic potential are gifts and trusts from God to be faithfully stewarded. Asking God to establish a culture of responsibility, accountability, diligence, preservation, cultivation, and generational thinking, so that what has been entrusted to South Africa is not exploited or consumed merely for personal gain, but wisely developed and used for the common good and the blessing of generations to come.
*All scriptures (unless otherwise stated) are from New King James Version (NKJV)
Action item 1: Recover the revelation of God’s ownership
Psalm 24:1 “The earth is the LORD’S, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.”
Haggai 2:8 “The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
Deuteronomy 10:14 “Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the LORD your God, also the earth with all that is in it.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray that South Africa will recover the foundational truth that the earth, its resources, and its people belong to You. Let this revelation be restored in the hearts and minds of individuals, families, communities, institutions, businesses, and leaders throughout our nation. Cause us to recognise that everything You have entrusted to us carries a responsibility before You. May the knowledge of Your ownership shape how we understand, manage, govern, develop, and use what You have placed in our hands. Establish within us a deep sense of stewardship, accountability, and responsibility toward all that belongs to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Action item 2: Establish faithfulness and accountability in stewardship
1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful.”
Luke 16:10-12 “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon,”
Proverbs 28:20 “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray for the restoration of faithfulness, integrity, accountability, and responsibility in the stewardship of all that You have entrusted to South Africa. Raise up faithful stewards in every sphere of society who understand that what is placed in their hands carries a responsibility before You. We pray against corruption, waste, negligence, exploitation, greed, dishonesty, and every form of misuse of resources and opportunity. Establish integrity within those entrusted with public resources, finances, land, infrastructure, institutions, businesses, knowledge, skills, and opportunities. May those who carry responsibility be people who can be trusted, who act with honesty, who exercise wisdom, and who refuse to pursue personal gain at the expense of the common good. Teach us as a nation to value faithfulness above quick gain and responsibility above self-interest. Let faithful stewardship become a defining characteristic of our nation, and may those who are entrusted with much be found faithful before You. In Jesus’ name, Amen
Action item 3: Cultivate what God has entrusted for generational blessing
Genesis 2:15 “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
- Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we pray that South Africa will learn to faithfully cultivate, develop, preserve, and multiply all that You have entrusted to this nation. Deliver us from a culture of consumption without cultivation, possession without responsibility, and immediate gain without consideration for generations to come. Give us wisdom to develop our land, natural resources, knowledge, skills, infrastructure, institutions, creativity, and economic potential in ways that honour You and serve the common good.
Deuteronomy 8:18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
- Remind us that every capacity to create, build, produce, and prosper ultimately comes from You. Teach us to use what You have placed in our hands not merely for personal benefit, but to establish foundations upon which future generations can build. Raise fathers and mothers, leaders, institutions, businesses, communities, and organisations that think generationally and are willing to build what they themselves may not live to see completed.
Psalm 78:4-7 “We will not hide them from their children, telling the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. 5For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; 6That the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, 7That they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”
- May what is cultivated today become a blessing tomorrow. May what is preserved today strengthen future generations. May what is multiplied today create opportunity for those who come after us. And may South Africa faithfully steward what You have entrusted to her until that stewardship becomes a testimony of Your goodness and a blessing to generations and to the nations. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
