WEEK 18: SOUTH AFRICA A BLESSING TO AFRICA
Day 123 (1 October 2026)
Theme: Raising Righteous Leaders for Regional Influence.
Praying for God to raise and position righteous, discerning, courageous, and servant-hearted leaders from South Africa who will carry Kingdom influence across Africa. Pray against leadership characterised by corruption, self-interest, exploitation, pride, manipulation, and the pursuit of power for personal gain. Pray for leaders who recognise that influence is a stewardship before God and who will use their authority to advance righteousness, justice, peace, accountability, and the wellbeing of people and nations.
Action item 1: Pray for Godly leaders to be raised and positioned for influence across Africa.
Proverbs 29:2 “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
Daniel 6:3-4 “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit [was] in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm. 4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he [was] faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.”

- Father, raise leaders from South Africa whose authority is established upon righteousness, truth, wisdom, integrity, and the fear of the Lord. Position men and women whom You have tested and formed for influence beyond our borders. Let those entrusted with authority refuse corruption, compromise, manipulation, and self-enrichment. May their leadership protect people, strengthen nations, uphold justice, and honour Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Action item 2: Pray against corrupt and self-serving Leadership across the Continent.
Isaiah 10:1-2 “1 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness [which] they have prescribed; 2 To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and [that] they may rob the fatherless!”
Proverbs 16:12 “[It is] an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.”
Psalm 72:1-4 “Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son. 2 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment. 3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness. 4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.”
- Father, expose and dismantle structures of corruption, exploitation, injustice, greed, and abuse of authority that oppress people across Africa. Frustrate schemes that divert national resources for private gain and silence those who pursue truth and justice. Remove ungodly foundations that perpetuate poverty, instability, violence, and institutional decay. Raise leaders who understand that authority is entrusted by God and must be exercised for the protection and flourishing of those under their care. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Action item 3: Pray For South African Leaders to exercise regional influence as Servants, not rulers over others.
Mark 10:42-45 “42 But Jesus called them [to him], and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. 43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: 44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Philippians 2:3-5 “3 [Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
Micah 6:8 “He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
- Father, In the name of Jesus Christ, purify the motives of those who carry influence from South Africa into Africa. Deliver us from superiority, domination, exploitation, and the desire to control. Establish the mind of Christ within our leaders, that they may understand greatness as service and influence as stewardship. Give them wisdom to honour African nations, listen before acting, build rather than exploit, and strengthen rather than dominate. Let South Africa’s regional influence reflect the character of Christ and become a force for righteousness, peace, justice, and the good of people. Amen.
