WEEK 16: STEWARDSHIP, INNOVATION AND NATIONAL PROSPERITY

Day 109 (17 September 2026)

Theme: Raising Entrepreneurs, Builders and Problem-Solvers

Praying for God to raise a generation of entrepreneurs, builders, innovators, artisans, farmers, inventors, business owners, professionals, and problem-solvers who will recognise opportunities, create solutions, build sustainable enterprises, and contribute meaningfully to the development of South Africa. Praying for courage, wisdom, diligence, resilience, creativity, discipline, and sound judgment to be established in those who carry entrepreneurial and productive capacity. Asking God to release people who will not merely identify the challenges facing the nation but will take responsibility for developing practical solutions, creating value, generating opportunity, and building enterprises that strengthen communities and contribute to national prosperity.

*All scriptures (unless otherwise stated) are from New King James Version (NKJV)

Action item 1: Raise people with the vision and courage to build.

Nehemiah 2:17-18 “Then I said to them, ‘You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.’ 18And I told them of the hand of my God which had been good upon me, and also of the king’s words that he had spoken to me. So they said, ‘Let us rise up and build.’ Then they set their hands to this good work.”

Proverbs 24:3-4 “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; 4By knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.”

Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.”

  • Father in the mighty name of Jesus, raise builders throughout South Africa. Give people the courage to see what is broken and believe that it can be rebuilt; to see what is lacking and believe that solutions can be developed; to see opportunities and take responsibility for bringing them into reality. Give entrepreneurs, builders, artisans, farmers, inventors, professionals, and innovators wisdom to plan well and courage to begin. Deliver us from fear of failure, passivity, dependency, and the mindset that waits for someone else to solve what You have given us the capacity to address. Raise a generation that will say, “Let us rise up and build.” Let them build businesses, farms, technologies, institutions, services, products, infrastructure, and solutions that strengthen South Africa. Give them perseverance to continue through difficulty and wisdom to build upon foundations that will endure. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action item 2: Develop entrepreneurial character, wisdom and diligence.

Proverbs 21:5 “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.”

Proverbs 22:29 “Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.”

Proverbs 13:11 “Wealth gained by dishonesty will be diminished, but he who gathers by labor will increase.”

  • Father, establish within South Africa’s entrepreneurs and business leaders the character required to build what will endure. Give them diligence rather than haste, wisdom rather than impulsiveness, discipline rather than inconsistency, and integrity rather than dishonest gain. Teach them to plan, to count the cost, to learn from failure, to manage resources wisely, to honour their commitments, and to build sustainable enterprises. Protect them from the temptation of shortcuts, corruption, exploitation, and the pursuit of quick wealth. Raise entrepreneurs who understand that character is part of capital. Let excellence, honesty, reliability, resilience, and accountability distinguish the enterprises being built in South Africa. May the work of their hands become established because it has been built upon wisdom and righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action item 3: Multiply enterprise that creates value, opportunity and employment.

Deuteronomy 28:12 “The LORD will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

Proverbs 31:16-18 “She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard. 17She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. 18She perceives that her merchandise is good, and her lamp does not go out by night.”

Ephesians 4:28 “Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.”

  • Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, multiply productive enterprise throughout South Africa. Release wisdom for people to identify opportunities, establish businesses, develop products and services, and create sustainable sources of employment and income. Open pathways for entrepreneurs in both urban and rural communities. Strengthen small businesses and emerging enterprises. Give access to knowledge, skills, finance, markets, technology, infrastructure, mentorship, and networks that enable good ideas to become sustainable enterprises. May businesses become places where people are trained, skills are developed, dignity is restored, and meaningful work is created. Let enterprise move beyond personal accumulation and become a means through which families are strengthened, communities are developed, needs are met, and people are empowered to participate productively in the economy. Establish the work of the hands of those who build with integrity, and let their enterprises contribute to the flourishing of South Africa. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
