WEEK 17: DISCIPLING THE NATION
Day 118 (26 September 2026)
Theme: Raising Disciple-Makers: Kingdom Multiplication
Praying for South Africa to develop a culture of intentional discipleship in which mature believers do not merely receive spiritual investment, but become equipped and committed to disciple others. We pray for the multiplication of faithful men and women who can teach, mentor, equip, lead, and reproduce Kingdom values in others. As disciples multiply across families, churches, communities, professions, and institutions, the influence of the Kingdom becomes established beyond individual lives and across generations.

Action item 1: Pray for mature disciples to embrace the responsibility of making disciples.
2 Timothy 2:1-2 “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
- Father, awaken mature believers across South Africa to recognise that spiritual maturity is not simply about personal growth. Help them understand that what they have received from You is also something they are called to reproduce and entrust to others. Father, develop mature disciples whose understanding of Your Word produces discernment and wisdom. Train them through Your Word and through obedience so that they can help others navigate truth, deception, temptation, and difficult decisions. In Jesus’ name. “Entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2).
Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Father, awaken the Church in South Africa to the full responsibility of the Great Commission. Father, let discipleship multiply beyond church gatherings into families, schools, workplaces, businesses, communities, and every sphere of society. Father, establish a multiplying discipleship movement across South Africa. In Jesus’ name. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19)
Hebrews 5:12-14 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.”
- Father, deliver Your people from a Christianity that continually receives without reproducing. Father, raise faithful men and women who can receive truth, live it out, and faithfully communicate it to others. Lord, establish spiritual fathers and mothers who will intentionally walk alongside younger believers. In Jesus’ name. “By this time you ought to be teachers.” (Hebrews 5:12)
Action item 2: Pray for faithful disciple-makers to be raised in every sphere of society.
Ephesians 4:11-13 “And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ”
- Father, raise faithful disciple-makers throughout the Church in South Africa. Father, establish a multiplication pathway throughout South Africa where those who are discipled become disciple-makers themselves. In Jesus’ name. “To equip the saints for the work of ministry.” (Ephesians 4:12)
1 Corinthians 11:1 “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.”
- Father, raise Kingdom multipliers wherever You have positioned Your people. Father, raise believers whose lives are worthy of imitation because they are following Christ faithfully. In Jesus’ name. “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another.” (1 Peter 4:10)
Titus 2:1-8 “But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. 2 Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in behaviour, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4 and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 6 Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled. 7 Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.”
- Father, give pastors and ministry leaders a renewed understanding of their responsibility to equip the saints. Father, establish strong relationships of discipleship among women throughout South Africa. In Jesus’ name. “He gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers.” (Ephesians 4:11)
Action item 3: Pray for Kingdom multiplication to become a sustainable generational movement.
Psalm 145:4 “One generation shall commend your works to another, and shall declare your mighty acts.”
- Father, establish a culture of Kingdom multiplication throughout the Church in South Africa. Father, let biblical values become a generational inheritance in South Africa. In Jesus’ name. “Entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2)
Psalm 78:5-7 “He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers to teach to their children, 6 that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, 7 so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;”
- Father, help every generation faithfully communicate Your works, Your Word, and Your faithfulness to those who come after them. Father, let every generation of disciples become a generation of disciple-makers. Father, protect the knowledge of You from being lost between generations. In Jesus’ name. “One generation shall commend your works to another.” (Psalm 145:4)

- Father, give Your Church a vision that extends beyond the present generation. Father, establish a discipleship movement that does not depend on one generation, one leader, or one ministry. In Jesus’ name. “That the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn.” (Psalm 78:6)
NATIONAL PRAYER FOR MATURE DISCIPLES WHO MAKE DISCIPLES
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, awaken Your Church across South Africa to the responsibility of spiritual reproduction. Thank You for every believer who has been taught, discipled, corrected, equipped, strengthened, and established in Christ.
Lord, let those who have received spiritual investment understand that they are now called to invest in others. Teach us to measure maturity by our willingness to obey Christ, serve others, and help people grow in their relationship with You.
Raise mature disciples who will not keep what they have received to themselves. Give Your Church wisdom to develop healthy discipleship pathways that lead people from conversion to maturity and from maturity to multiplication. Let schools and communities encounter mature believers who faithfully represent Christ. May every generation receive the Gospel, be established in truth, grow toward maturity, and accept the responsibility of making disciples.
Let a spiritual legacy be established that will continue long after we are gone. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen
