Day 4: Praying for All in Authority

Action Item 1: Intercede for all in authority (1 Timothy 2:2). Declare Godly Governance over South Africa.

Prayer Points

• Father, we ask for leaders in South Africa who will fear You, love justice, and lead with integrity standing on Proverbs 29:2 – “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.”
• Establish leaders who will honour Your covenant according to Daniel 2:21 – “He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”
• Let Your justice and righteousness prevail in every sphere of authority and let South Africa be led by those appointed by Your hand according to Psalm 75:7 – “It is God who judges: He brings one down, He exalts another.”

Action Item 2: Ask for wisdom, righteousness, and the fear of the Lord to guide their decisions.

Prayer Points

• Grant wisdom, discernment, and the fear of the Lord to all who serve in positions of authority. According to James 1:5 – “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
• Judge corruption and every hidden agenda that opposes justice and truth; let righteousness be established in every decision according to Isaiah 1:23-26 – “Your rulers are rebels, partners with thieves… I will restore your judges as at the first… Afterward you will be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city.
• May those in authority govern with humility, compassion, and a commitment to serve the people according to Your will in accordance to Micah 6:8 – “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?”

Action Item 3: Pray for the establishment of justice.

Prayer Points

• We pray for peace and stability in South Africa, that all citizens may live quiet and godly lives according to 1 Timothy 2:2 — “…for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
• Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream throughout our land according to Amos 5:24 – “But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!”
• Establish godly order in every institution and let Your kingdom values shape the future of South Africa as we stand on Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
