WEEK 21: DISCERNING THE TIMES – THE ISSACCHAR MANDATE
Day 147 (25 October 2026)
Theme: Hearing What the Spirit is Saying to the Church.
Discernment must lead to hearing and obedience. Throughout Scripture, God speaks to His people to give direction, correction, warning, encouragement, and instruction. In a season filled with competing voices, the Church in South Africa must develop ears that are sensitive to the Holy Spirit and hearts that remain anchored in the Word of God. Today we pray for a Church that hears clearly, tests what it hears biblically, and responds obediently to the voice of God.
Action item 1: Pray for Spiritual Sensitivity to Hear the Voice of God.
Revelation 2:7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”
John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
Isaiah 30:21 “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”
- Father, awaken the spiritual hearing of Your Church in South Africa. Quiet the noise, distractions, ambitions, fears, and competing voices that make it difficult for us to recognise Your voice. Teach us to know Your voice through intimacy with You and through alignment with Your Word. Give pastors, apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, intercessors, and believers sensitivity to the direction of the Holy Spirit. Father, give Your Church ears to hear what the Spirit is saying in this season, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Action item 2: Pray for Discernment to Test every Voice.
1 John 4:1 “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 “Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good.”
Isaiah 8:20 “To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”
- Father God, we pray in the name of Jesus, give Your Church mature discernment to test every voice, prophecy, teaching, interpretation, and spiritual impression against Your Word. Protect South Africa from false prophecy, manipulation, sensationalism, deception, and voices that use Your name to advance personal, political, financial, or ideological agendas. Give us humility to test what we hear without despising genuine prophetic utterance. Let Scripture remain our standard. May the Holy Spirit sharpen our discernment so that we recognise truth, reject error, and hold fast to what is good. Lord, preserve Your Church in truth and teach us to test every voice according to Your Word.
Action item 3: Pray for Courage to Obey what God Says.
James 1:22 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
Luke 11:28 “But He said, ‘More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!’”
Deuteronomy 5:32-33 “Therefore you shall be careful to do as the LORD your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. You shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”
- Father, deliver us from hearing without obeying. Give Your Church courage to act when You speak, even when obedience is costly, unpopular, inconvenient, or contrary to prevailing culture. Where You call us to repent, let us repent. Where You call us to speak, give us courage to speak. Where You command us to act, let us act. Where You require us to wait, give us discipline to wait. Raise a Church in South Africa whose spiritual authority flows from submission and obedience to Jesus Christ. Father, make us not only hearers of Your Word but faithful doers of everything You require of us, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
- We declare that the Church in South Africa has ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. Confusion and spiritual dullness will give way to sensitivity, clarity, and divine direction. (Revelation 2:7)
- We declare that the voice of the Shepherd will be distinguished from every competing voice. God’s people will know His voice and follow His leading. (John 10:27)
- We declare that deception, false prophecy, manipulation, and spiritual counterfeit will be exposed. The Church will test all things by Scripture and hold firmly to what is true. (1 Thessalonians 5:21)
- We declare that the Word of God will remain the standard by which every voice speaking into our nation is judged. Human opinion, political pressure, cultural trends, and spiritual claims will not displace the authority of Scripture. (Isaiah 8:20)
- We declare that South Africa will see a Church that hears God and obeys Him. Revelation will become obedience, obedience will produce righteous action, and the purposes of God will be advanced through a surrendered people. (James 1:22)
