Week 7: Standing in the Ancient Paths

Day 46 (18 March 2026) – Rebuilding the Foundations of Righteousness, Justice and Mercy

Action Item 1: Repenting of straying from the ancient paths

Jeremiah 18:15 “Because My people have forgotten Me, and they have burned incense to worthless idols. They have caused themselves to stumble in their ways, from the ancient paths…16 to make their land desolate…”

Isaiah 5:7 “…He looked for justice, but behold oppression; For righteousness, but behold , a cry for help”

Proverbs14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any”

James 2:13 “… Mercy trumps judgment”

  • Lord, Your Word says in Jeremiah 18:15 we have forgotten You Lord and burned incense to idols. Forgive us for every false action, path, distraction and every step outside of Your Word. We renounce the crooked paths and revoke any legal right we gave it.
  • James 2:13 declares that mercy trumps judgment. Father, as we come and humble ourselves before You today to repent of all our wrongdoing, we ask for Your mercy on us and our Land. Lord, our land is struggling because we have strayed from You. Restore our land. Make our land flourish and prosper as a testimony of Your goodness.
  • Father, we acknowledge we have sinned against You by falling short of Your ways in righteousness, justice and mercy.  Our righteousness is as filthy rags before You, and so we come before You under the covering of the blood of Jesus which cleanses us. We repent for every form of unrighteousness. Forgive us for our compromise, disobedience and being burdened with the cares of the world. Let righteousness be restored in our lives, our homes and our land, for Proverbs 14:34 declares righteousness exalts a nation.
  • Isaiah 5:7 declares that You, o God, look for justice, but found oppression. We repent for silence, neglecting and perverting justice. Forgive us. Cleanse us from corruption, partiality and silence in the face of wrong. Teach us to walk in truth and integrity.
  • Father, we repent for withholding mercy. Forgive us for the hardness of our hearts, our judgement and our unforgiveness. Teach us to walk in Your compassion for people.

Action Item 2: Rebuilding Righteous Foundations

Psalm 11:3-4 “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do. 4. The Lord is in His holy temple; the Lord’s throne is in heaven…”

1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no other foundation can anyone lay… which is Jesus Christ.”

  • Lord, we acknowledge that through ignorance and disobedience, we have destroyed our foundations.  Psalm 11:3 declares if the foundations are destroyed, what the righteous can do?
  • Father, we will lift up our eyes to You as Psalm 121:1-2 instructs us to do. Lord, You are still on Your Throne in heaven and our help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth. Your throne, O God is established forever.
  • Father by Your power, rebuild every broken foundation in our lives, our families, our cities and our nation on the foundation of Christ Jesus.
  • We declare no foundation other than Christ will stand before Your throne according to 1 Corinthians 3:11

Action Item 3: Restoring Mercy and Justice

Psalm 89:4 “Righteousness and Justice are the foundation of Your Throne; Mercy and Truth go before Your face.”

Micah 6:8 “to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with Your God”

  • Father God, Your throne is established on righteousness and justice.  We acknowledge that one cannot stand without the other. Lord, restore Justice in our nation. Let Truth prevail and uproot every system that opposes Your righteousness. Rebuild the foundation of justice upon Christ that it may stand before Your throne.
  • Lord, let Your mercy flow among us. Restore within us a culture of mercy, grace and humility towards others. Align our hearts with Yours. Birth within us a desire to see others as You see them. Let mercy triumph over judgment in our lives and in our land.
