Week 2: Personal & Household Consecration (Praying for the Family),
We continue on the theme for family, this week we are looking at the sub –
theme of personal and household consecration. We are examining our
personal hearts as part of the unity in the family and what we have and are
contributing. The Lord requires righteous families so we can have righteous
communities and nation.
Week 2: Day 4
ACTION ITEM 1: HONOUR AND RESPECT IN THE FAMILY
Ephesians 6:1–3
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord… ‘Honour your father and mother’—which
is the first commandment with a promise…”
Romans 12:10
“Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves.”
1 Peter 2:17
“Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers…”
Focus: Restoring honour between family members.
Direction: Repent for dishonour and disrespect.
Declare a new spiritual order: A culture of honour.
Spiritual Outcome: Strengthened family bonds.
PRAYER FOR HONOUR AND RESPECT IN THE FAMILY
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before You and
acknowledge that at times we have failed to walk in honour and respect within our
families. Your Word in Ephesians 6:1–3 calls us to honour our parents, and we repent
where we have been disobedient, dismissive, or dishonouring in our attitudes, words,
and actions. Your Word also instructs us in Romans 12:10 to be devoted to one
another in love and to honour one another above ourselves – yet we confess that pride,
selfishness, and impatience have often taken precedence.
Lord, today we choose to align with Your Word. As it is written in 1 Peter 2:17, we
will show proper respect to everyone and walk in love within our households. Teach
us to value one another, to speak with kindness, and to treat each family member with
dignity. We lay down every spirit of dishonour, harshness, and disregard, and we ask
that You establish a new culture of honour, humility, and love in our homes. Let our
families reflect Your heart and Your order. From this day forward, we walk in honour
and mutual respect, in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
ACTION ITEM 2: GODLY LEADERSHIP IN THE HOME
Joshua 24:15 “But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
Ephesians 5:23, 25
“For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church…
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for
her.”
1 Timothy 3:4–5
“He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him… For if
anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s
church?”
Focus: Establishing Christ-centered leadership.
Direction: Surrender leadership roles to God.
Declare a new spiritual order: Christ as head.
Spiritual Outcome: Order and clarity.
PRAYER FOR GODLY LEADERSHIP IN THE HOME
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before You and
acknowledge that true leadership in the home comes from You. Your Word in Joshua
24:15 declares that as for us and our households, we will serve the Lord, yet we repent
for the times we have led passively, inconsistently, or outside of Your will. Father,
Your Word teaches in Ephesians 5:23, 25 that leadership is not control, but sacrificial
love – reflecting Christ. Forgive us where leadership has been marked by selfishness,
harshness, neglect, or lack of spiritual direction.
Lord, we choose today to align our homes under Your divine order. As Your Word
says in 1 Timothy 3:4–5, we are called to lead our households with care, integrity, and
responsibility. Teach us to lead with humility, wisdom, and love. Establish Christ as
the true Head of our homes, and let every role function under Your authority. Raise
up leaders within our families who will guide with righteousness, serve with
compassion, and model godliness in word and deed. From this day forward, we
declare that our homes will be led according to Your will and purpose, in Jesus
Christ’s name, Amen.
ACTION ITEM 3: SERVANTHOOD IN THE FAMILY
Mark 10:45
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…”
John 13:14–15
“Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash
one another’s feet… I have set you an example…”
Philippians 2:3–4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition… in humility value others above yourselves, not
looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
Focus: Serving one another in love.
Direction: Lay down selfishness.
Declare a new spiritual order: Servanthood.
Spiritual Outcome: Unity and love.
PRAYER FOR SERVANTHOOD IN THE FAMILY
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before You
acknowledging that You have called us to a life of servanthood. Your Word in Mark
10:45 shows us that even Christ came not to be served, but to serve, yet we repent for
the times we have operated in selfishness, pride, and a desire to be served rather than
to serve. Lord, forgive us where we have neglected the needs of our family members,
where we have been unwilling to sacrifice, and where love has not been expressed
through our actions.
Father, as it is written in John 13:14–15, You have given us an example to follow – to
serve one another in humility and love. Teach us to walk in this example daily.
According to Philippians 2:3–4, help us to put aside selfish ambition and to value one
another above ourselves, looking not only to our own needs but to the needs of others.
Establish a culture of servanthood in our homes, where love is demonstrated through
action, humility leads our interactions, and every member seeks to uplift the other.
From this day forward, we choose to serve with joy, reflecting the heart of Christ in
our families, in Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
