WEEK 7: RESTORATION OF NATIONAL IDENTITY AND PURPOSE
Day 48: (18 July 2026)
RAISING A GENERATION THAT UNDERSTANDS PURPOSE: Praying for youth to embrace God’s destiny for the nation.
Action item 1: Pray for the salvation, discipleship, and spiritual awakening of South Africa’s youth.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, ‘I have no pleasure in them’:”
Joel 2:28-29 “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29Also, on My menservants and on My maidservants, I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”
1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
Action item 2: Pray for young people to discover their calling and national assignment.
Jeremiah 1:5-7 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations. 6Then said I: ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth. 7But the Lord said to me: Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.”
Esther 4:14 “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Action item 3: Declare the emergence of a righteous and purpose-driven generation.
Daniel 1:17-20 “As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore, they served before the king. 20And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.”
Isaiah 58:12 “Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of Streets to dwell in.”
Psalm 145:4 “One generation shall praise Your works to another and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
- Lord, we pray for the young people of South Africa. Draw them into a personal relationship with You and help them to love Your Word and walk in obedience to Your will. Let them encounter Jesus, be firmly rooted in Your truth, and be set free from deception, hopelessness, addiction, violence, and every destructive influence.
- Lord, raise up a generation of young leaders who know they have been called for such a time as this. Help them to recognize the gifts, talents, and purpose You have placed within them, and use them to serve their communities, bring positive change to society, and advance Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prophetic Declarations
- We declare that a generation is arising in South Africa that will walk in wisdom, integrity, courage, and the fear of the Lord.
- We declare that God is raising up young leaders who will honour Him and lead with righteousness, humility, and biblical truth.
- We declare that this generation will bring godly influence on government, business, education, science, the arts, media, and ministry.
- We declare that South Africa’s future leaders will reject corruption and compromise, choosing justice, integrity, and faithful obedience to God’s purposes.
- We declare that this generation will fulfil God’s calling for South Africa, advancing His Kingdom and becoming a light of hope and righteousness to the nations.
