Action Item 1: Pray for the Next Generation to Know God and Walk in His Purpose

(Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to South Africa’s children and youth, drawing them into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pray that they would discover their God-given identity, calling, and purpose, choosing to walk in obedience to His Word and becoming faithful disciples who glorify Him in every area of life.)

Key Scriptures:

  • Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV) “5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
  • Ecclesiastes 12:1 (ESV) “1 Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come and the years draw near of which you will say, “I have no pleasure in them”;”
  • Ephesians 2:10 (ESV) “10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Prayer Point 1

Father, reveal Yourself to the children and young people of South Africa. Draw them into a genuine and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. May they encounter Your presence, know Your love, hear Your voice, and develop a deep desire to know You for themselves. Father, give the next generation a hunger for Your Word and a willingness to obey Your instructions. Teach them that following Jesus is not simply about believing, but about allowing Your truth to shape their decisions, relationships, character, and everyday lives.

Scripture: “You shall seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” — Jeremiah 29:13 (ESV)

Prayer Point 2

Lord, let the next generation understand that their lives are known and valued by You. Establish their identity in Christ and protect them from defining themselves by culture, social media, peer pressure, achievements, possessions, or the opinions of others. Lord, draw young people to seek You early in life. May they not wait until adulthood or crisis to surrender their lives to You, but choose to remember and honor their Creator while they are young. In the Name of Jesus

Scriptures: “Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth.” — Ecclesiastes 12:1 (ESV) / “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.” — Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV)

Prayer Point 3

Father, help our children and youth discover their God-given calling and purpose. Reveal the gifts, abilities, passions, and opportunities You have placed within them, and guide them toward the purpose for which You created them. Lord, establish our young people as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Give them courage to follow You when it is difficult, strength to resist compromise, and boldness to share their faith with their friends, families, schools, workplaces, and communities.

Scriptures: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19 (ESV) / “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)

Action Item 2: Pray for a Generation that Will Transform Every Sphere of Society

(Intercede that the Lord would raise a generation of Spirit-filled leaders, innovators, educators, entrepreneurs, public servants, scientists, healthcare professionals, artists, and ministers who will influence every sphere of society with wisdom, righteousness, justice, compassion, and the fear of the Lord.)

Key Scriptures:

  • Isaiah 60:1-3 (ESV) “1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. 2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you. 3 And nations shall come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising”
  • Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV) “14 You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
  • Daniel 11:32 (ESV) “32 He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action.”

Prayer Point 1

Father, raise up a Spirit-filled generation in South Africa that knows You deeply and is empowered by Your Holy Spirit to bring transformation wherever You place them. Give them courage, wisdom, discernment, and spiritual strength to influence their generation for Your glory. Lord, raise up ministers, pastors, missionaries, evangelists, and spiritual leaders who will faithfully proclaim the Gospel, disciple believers, strengthen families, and equip the next generation to serve Your purposes in every sphere of society.

  • Psalm 78:6-7 (ESV) “6 that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, and arise and tell them to their children, 7 so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments;”
  • Isaiah 59:21 (ESV) “21 And as for me, this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord: “My Spirit that is upon you, and my words that I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your offspring, or out of the mouth of your children’s offspring,” says the Lord, “from this time forth and forevermore.”

Prayer Point 1

Father, we declare that the future generations of South Africa belong to You. Establish our children and young people in Your covenant purposes and let their lives be rooted in Your Word, guided by Your Spirit, and devoted to Jesus Christ. Lord, raise up generations who will faithfully proclaim Your goodness and praise. May our children, youth, parents, grandparents, churches, and communities never forget Your faithfulness but continually testify of what You have done. Lord, raise up future generations who will walk in wisdom and understanding. Give young people discernment to recognize truth, wisdom to make righteous decisions, and humility to seek godly counsel as they navigate the challenges of their generation. In the Name of Jesus.

Father, establish Your truth in the hearts and mouths of generations yet unborn. May Your Word remain central in our homes, churches, schools, communities, and institutions, and may biblical truth not be lost through compromise, neglect, or deception. Lord, establish a lasting godly legacy in South Africa. May each generation leave the next generation stronger in faith, richer in wisdom, deeper in character, and more committed to Your purposes. Let the legacy of righteousness extend beyond our borders and become a blessing to other nations. In the name of Jesus.

National Prayer for the Next Generation to Know God

Father, we commit South Africa’s children and youth into Your hands. Reveal Yourself to them and draw them into a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. Let them experience Your love, discover Your truth, and develop a deep hunger to know You personally.

Lord, establish their identity in Christ. Protect them from confusion, comparison, insecurity, peer pressure, and the influence of a culture that seeks to tell them who they are and what they should become. Let them know that You formed them, know them, love them, and have a purpose for their lives.

Father, awaken the gifts, abilities, passions, and potential You have placed within this generation. Guide them into the good works You have prepared for them. Give them wisdom to recognize Your calling and courage to follow it, even when the path is different from what the world expects.

Draw our young people to seek You while they are young. Let them build their lives upon Your Word and develop convictions that will carry them through every season. May they become faithful disciples who obey Your Word, represent Jesus well, and influence their generation for the Kingdom of God.

Lord, let their entire lives bring glory to You. May their education, careers, relationships, families, businesses, creativity, leadership, and service become platforms through which Your goodness and purposes are revealed. We pray for a generation that knows God personally, understands who they are in Christ, discovers their God-given purpose, and faithfully walks in it. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
