WEEK 18: SOUTH AFRICA A BLESSING TO AFRICA

Day 121 (29 September 2026)

Theme: Sent to Serve Africa.

South Africa to embrace its responsibility to serve Africa through the Gospel, discipleship, missions, compassion, and practical Kingdom service. As a discipled and multiplying Church, may South Africa look beyond its own borders with a servant’s heart, responding to the spiritual and practical needs of African nations. Pray for churches, ministries, missionaries, leaders, businesses, professionals, and ordinary believers to be equipped and released to serve with humility, wisdom, cultural sensitivity, and genuine love.

Action item 1: Pray for the South African Church to embrace the Great Commission beyond its borders.

Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Acts 1:8 “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

Romans 10:13-15 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!”

  • Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, stir up the Church in South Africa to the fullness of the Great Commission. Give Your people a burden for the nations of Africa and raise missionaries, evangelists, teachers, intercessors, church planters, and disciple-makers who will serve beyond our borders. Let the Gospel be proclaimed with truth, humility, love, and power, and let disciples be established in communities and nations throughout Africa.

Action item 2: Pray for Kingdom servants to respond to Africa’s spiritual and practical needs.

Matthew 9:36-38 “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly [is] plenteous, but the labourers [are] few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

Matthew 25:35-40 “35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed [thee]? or thirsty, and gave [thee] drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took [thee] in? or naked, and clothed [thee]? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done [it] unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done [it] unto me.”

James 2:14-17 “What [doth it] profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, ‘Depart in peace, be [ye] warmed and filled’; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what [doth it] profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”

  • Father God, give Your people eyes to see and hearts to respond to the needs of African communities. Raise Kingdom servants who will address spiritual, educational, economic, social, humanitarian, and community needs with wisdom and compassion. May South African churches, organisations, professionals, businesses, and individuals become instruments of practical blessing, demonstrating the love of Christ through faithful service. We pray in Jesus Christ’s name. Amen

Action item 3: Pray for South Africa’s Kingdom servants to serve Africa with humility and cultural honour.

Philippians 2:3-8 “[Let] nothing [be done] through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

1 Corinthians 9:19-23 “For though I be free from all [men], yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. 20 And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; 21 To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. 22 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all [men], that I might by all means save some. 23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with [you]”.

1 Thessalonians 2:7-12“But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: 8 So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. 9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God. 10 Ye [are] witnesses, and God [also], how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe: 11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children, 12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.”

  • Father, form Christlike servants who will represent South Africa with humility among the nations of Africa. Deliver Your people from attitudes of superiority, paternalism, exploitation, or cultural insensitivity. Teach those who serve to listen, learn, honour local leadership, respect communities, and build genuine relationships. May South Africa’s contribution be characterised by the servant-hearted nature of Christ, so that those we serve encounter both the love of God and the dignity He has placed within them. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray.

*All scriptures (unless otherwise indicated) are KJV.
