WEEK 18: SOUTH AFRICA A BLESSING TO AFRICA

Day 122 (30 September 2026)

Theme: A VOICE FOR RECONCILIATION AND PEACE

Praying for South Africa to become a faithful instrument of reconciliation, peace, justice, and restoration across Africa. As a nation that has experienced the devastating consequences of division and the costly pursuit of reconciliation, may South Africa carry a mature understanding of the responsibility to pursue peace. Pray for the Church, leaders, and Kingdom citizens to be equipped to stand in the gap where nations, communities, tribes, ethnic groups, generations, and societies are divided, bringing the message and ministry of reconciliation through Christ.

Action item 1: Pray for the Church in South Africa to embrace the ministry of reconciliation.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 “And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”

Ephesians 2:13-18 “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition [between us]; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, [even] the law of commandments [contained] in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, [so] making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.”

Matthew 5:9 “Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.”

  • Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, establish the ministry of reconciliation within the Church in South Africa. Make Your people faithful ambassadors of Christ in places marked by division, hostility, injustice, and broken relationships. Give the Church courage to speak truth, pursue justice, extend forgiveness, and build bridges where others have built walls. May South African believers carry the message of reconciliation into Africa with humility and integrity

Action item 2: Pray for peace and reconciliation to take root in divided African communities and nations.

Isaiah 2:4 “And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”

Psalm 133:1-3 “Behold, how good and how pleasant [it is] for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 [It is] like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, [even] Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; 3 As the dew of Hermon, [and as the dew] that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, [even] life for evermore.”

James 3:17-18 “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.”

  • Dear heavenly Father, we pray in the name of Jesus Christ that You release Your peace across Africa. Bring healing where communities and nations have been fractured by conflict, tribalism, ethnic hostility, political division, injustice, and violence. Raise peacemakers who can speak with wisdom into places of tension and help establish pathways toward reconciliation. Break cycles of hatred and retaliation, and establish justice, truth, mutual honour, and peaceful coexistence among peoples and nations. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Action item 3: Pray for South Africa to carry a mature witness of reconciliation Into Africa.

Micah 6:8 “He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

Romans 12:18 “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
Hebrews 12:14
“Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”

  • Father, mature South Africa in the lessons You have allowed this nation to learn through its own journey of division, injustice, reconciliation, and nation-building. Give us humility to acknowledge what remains unresolved while faithfully sharing what we have learned. Raise leaders, churches, mediators, educators, community builders, and peacemakers who can serve other African nations with wisdom and compassion. Let South Africa’s witness point beyond itself to Christ, the true source of reconciliation and peace. In Jesus Christ’s name we pray.

*All scriptures (unless otherwise indicated) are KJV.

  • We declare that we cultivate a culture of righteousness and righteous living for the Glory of the Lord. (Philippians 1:11)
