WEEK 18: SOUTH AFRICA A BLESSING TO AFRICA

Day 124 (2 October 2026)

Theme: Sharing Wisdom, Capacity and Innovation.

Praying for South Africa to faithfully steward and share the knowledge, skills, creativity, resources, technology, institutional capacity, and innovative solutions entrusted to the nation for the strengthening of Africa. Pray for God to raise people and institutions that will develop solutions to African challenges, transfer knowledge, equip others, create opportunities, and contribute to sustainable development. May South Africa’s contribution be marked by excellence, generosity, integrity, and service rather than exploitation or self-interest.

Action item 1: Pray for God-given wisdom and innovation to be released for the benefit of Africa.

James 1:5 ”If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

Exodus 31:1–6 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: 3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, 4 To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, 5 And in cutting of stones, to set [them], and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship. 6 And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;”
Proverbs 8:12
“I, wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.”

  • Father, release wisdom, creativity, understanding, and innovation upon the people of South Africa. Awaken solutions to challenges in agriculture, healthcare, education, technology, infrastructure, energy, water, enterprise, and other areas affecting African communities. Give innovators and problem-solvers insight beyond human limitation. Let the creativity You have placed within this nation become a resource for strengthening others and advancing human flourishing. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Action item 2: Pray for South Africa to become a faithful contributor of knowledge, skills and capacity.
Proverbs 18:15 “The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.”

Daniel 1:17-20 “17 As for these four children, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom: and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 Now at the end of the days that the king had said he should bring them in, then the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom [and] understanding, that the king enquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians [and] astrologers that [were] in all his realm.”
2 Timothy 2:2
“And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.”

  • Father, cause the knowledge and expertise developed within South Africa to become a blessing beyond its borders. Open righteous pathways for educators, professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists, skilled workers, institutions, and businesses to share knowledge and build capacity across Africa. Let expertise be transferred rather than guarded, and opportunity multiplied rather than concentrated. Raise people who will equip others to become capable, self-sustaining, and fruitful. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Action item 3: Pray for resources and economic capacity to be stewarded toward endeavours that advance Africa’s flourishing.
Deuteronomy 8:18 “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for [it is] he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as [it is] this day.”
Proverbs 11:24-25
“There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-11 “But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all [things], may abound to every good work: 9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever. 10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for [your] food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) 11 Being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.”

  • Father, In the name of Jesus Christ, purify the stewardship of South Africa’s economic and material resources. Deliver individuals, businesses, institutions, and leaders from greed, exploitation, corruption, and short-term gain. Give wisdom to deploy capital, enterprise, infrastructure, technology, and resources in ways that create sustainable opportunity and strengthen African communities. Let prosperity become productive, generous, and transformative, creating capacity rather than dependency. Amen.

*All scriptures (unless otherwise indicated) are KJV.
