WEEK 18: SOUTH AFRICA A BLESSING TO AFRICA
Day 126 (4 October 2026)
Theme: AFRICA BLESSED THROUGH SOUTH AFRICA.
Praying for South Africa to faithfully steward its place within Africa as a channel of God’s blessing, serving the continent through the Gospel, righteous leadership, reconciliation, wisdom, innovation, resources, and Kingdom partnership. Pray that everything God has restored, entrusted, and established within South Africa would increasingly flow beyond its borders for the strengthening and flourishing of African nations. May South Africa never become a reservoir that merely accumulates, but a faithful channel through which the purposes and goodness of God are released to others.
Action item 1: Pray for South Africa to faithfully release what God has entrusted to the nation.
Genesis 12:2-3 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
1 Peter 4:10-11 “As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If any man speak, [let him speak] as the oracles of God; if any man minister, [let him do it] as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
Luke 16:10-12 “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. 11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true [riches]? 12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?”
- Our dear heavenly Father, we ask that You make South Africa a faithful steward of everything You have entrusted to this nation. Deliver us from hoarding, self-interest, corruption, and the misuse of resources. Cause what You have placed within our hands e. wisdom, people, skills, resources, opportunities, institutions, creativity, and influence to flow toward purposes that strengthen others. Teach us to recognise that every gift carries an assignment and every resource carries responsibility. Let South Africa faithfully release what You have entrusted to it for the good of Africa. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
Action item 2: Pray for South Africa to become a channel of the Gospel, reconciliation, righteousness and peace.
Isaiah 60:1-3 “1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. 2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. 3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20 “18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
Psalm 67:1-7 “God be merciful unto us, and bless us; [and] cause his face to shine upon us; Selah. 2 That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. 3 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 4 O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah. 5 Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. 6 [Then] shall the earth yield her increase; [and] God, [even] our own God, shall bless us. 7 God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.”
- Father, let South Africa carry the light of Christ into Africa. Raise a Church that faithfully proclaims the Gospel, makes disciples, pursues reconciliation, defends justice, serves the vulnerable, and demonstrates the character of Christ among the nations. Where there is division, let us carry peace; where there is injustice, let us uphold righteousness; where there is despair, let us carry hope. May every expression of South African Kingdom influence ultimately point beyond ourselves to Jesus Christ. We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
Action item 3: Pray for the Blessing of God to flow through South Africa into Africa with lasting Kingdom fruit.
Isaiah 2:2-4 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD’S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.”
Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
- Dear Father in heaven, let the fruit of what You have been establishing in South Africa become a blessing to the nations of Africa. Connect the Church, righteous leaders, families, institutions, businesses, educators, innovators, professionals, and communities in partnerships that produce lasting Kingdom fruit. Let what flows from South Africa strengthen rather than weaken, equip rather than create dependency, reconcile rather than divide, and build rather than exploit. Cause the knowledge of the glory of the Lord to increase across Africa, and let the nations encounter the goodness, righteousness, justice, peace, and salvation of God. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
