WEEK 19: SOUTH AFRICA AMONG THE NATIONS

Day 132 (10 October 2026)

Theme: Kingdom Partnerships among the Nations
As South Africa exercises righteous influence within the global community, we pray for relationships and partnerships that multiply Kingdom impact beyond what any nation, church, institution, or individual can accomplish alone. God distributes gifts, wisdom, resources, opportunities, and assignments across peoples and nations. Today we pray for South Africa to build relationships characterised by mutual honour, integrity, humility, and shared responsibility – partnerships that advance the Gospel, strengthen people and institutions, promote justice and peace, and contribute to human flourishing. May South Africa enter the global community neither with superiority nor inferiority, but as a faithful contributor that is also willing to receive from the gifts God has placed in others.

Action item 1: Pray for God-Ordained Relationships and Partnerships to be Established among the Nations.

Philippians 1:3-5 “I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor.10For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. 11Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? 12Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
1 Corinthians 3:6-9
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. 7So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. 8Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are God’s building.”

  • Father God, we pray that You will connect South African churches, ministries, leaders, institutions, professionals, businesses and communities with international partners whose relationships serve Your purposes and produce lasting Kingdom fruit. Let our partnerships reflect joy and fellowship in You, as we give thanks at every remembrance of those You have joined us to. Teach us that together we are stronger and more impactful, and with You as the third strand in every partnership, the cord is not easily broken. Lord, where we have planted and watered, we ask You to bring the increase. Let us work together as fellow workers, trusting You for the growth, because we are Your field and Your building.

Action item 2: Pray for Global Partnerships Built on Mutual Honour, Contribution and Stewardship.

1 Corinthians 12:4-7 “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:”
Romans 12:4-6
“For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, 5so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith”
Philippians 2:3-4
“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. 4Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

  • Lord, thank You for the diversity of gifts we have received from the Holy Spirit. We are many members but one Body, each functioning according to our unique ability, calling and gifting, and each gift is given for the good of all. Father, as You have equipped us with different gifts, ministries and activities, help us keep our eyes on You as the only source: one Spirit, one Lord and one God. Help us use our gifts in proportion to our faith, as members of one another. May we realise that together we build the Body of Christ, and that selfish ambition brings harm to the kingdom. Teach us humility, to esteem others better than ourselves and to look out not only for our own interests, but also for the interests of others. Thank You for Your unique design for Your Kingdom, where everyone is needed and no one is overshadowed or overlooked. We are all here to bring Glory to You. We pray in the mighty name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Action item 3: Pray for Kingdom Partnerships to Produce Transformative and Generational Fruit.

John 15:16 “You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”
Psalm 145:4
“One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”
2 Timothy 2:2
“And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

  • Father, You chose us and appointed us to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains. We pray that the international relationships involving South Africa would move beyond temporary projects and transactions, and produce lasting fruit in discipleship, justice, peace, knowledge, capacity and opportunity, and in the strengthening and aligning of nations. Let one generation praise Your works to another and declare Your mighty acts. Help us to commit what we have received to faithful people who will teach others also, so that what we plant today keeps growing long after we are gone. Whatever we ask the Father in Jesus’ name, we trust You to give, for the sake of Your Kingdom and Your glory. Amen.
