WEEK 19: SOUTH AFRICA AMONG THE NATIONS
Day 133 (11 October 2026)
Theme: South Africa Fulfilling its Prophetic Purpose among the Nations.
As Week 19 concludes, we gather South Africa’s positioning, witness, voice, reconciliation, influence, and international partnerships under the greater purpose of God. Nations do not exist merely for themselves, and influence is not an end in itself. Today we pray that South Africa will discern and faithfully fulfil its God-given assignment in its generation; using every platform, relationship, resource, gift, and opportunity entrusted to it in service of the Gospel, righteousness, justice, reconciliation, peace, and the advancement of God’s purposes among the nations. We pray that South Africa will neither imitate the assignment of another nation nor squander its own, but mature into a faithful steward of what God has uniquely entrusted to it.
Action item 1: Pray for South Africa to Discern and Embrace its God-Given Assignment among the Nations.
Acts 17:26-27 “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;”
Esther 4:14 “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
- Father, help South Africa understand the purpose You have given her through her history, people, position, resources, relationships and opportunities, and use these things faithfully for Your glory. You set our times and boundaries so that we would seek You and find You, and You are not far from us. Give us courage to act when You call us, lead us into the good works You have prepared for us. Give us the wisdom to see that You are bringing relief and deliverance, and the understanding to choose to take our place in what You are doing. May South Africa fulfil her God-given purpose and bring glory to Your Holy name. We pray in Jesus’ name. Amen
Action item 2: Pray for Every National Gift and Resource to be Mobilised in Service of God’s Purposes.
1 Peter 4:10-11 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
Deuteronomy 8:18 ““And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
Isaiah 60:1-3 “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. 3The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”
Father, we pray that everything You have given South Africa will be stewarded well and put to work for Your Kingdom among the nations. This includes our faith heritage, our people, our knowledge, our creativity, our resources, our institutions, our influence and our relationships. Help us look after the grace You have given us and use our gifts to serve one another, with the strength You supply, so that You are honoured in everything we do through Jesus Christ. Help us remember that all our wealth we have comes from You, let it serve Your purposes and not our own. Let South Africa rise and shine, because Your light has come and Your glory is on us, so that other nations and their leaders are drawn to You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Action item 3: Pray for South Africa’s Influence among the Nations to Ultimately Reveal the Glory of God.
Psalm 67:1-7 “God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, 2That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. 3Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. 4Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, and govern the nations on earth. Selah 5Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. 6Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. 7God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.”
Habakkuk 2:14 “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.”
Matthew 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
- Father, we pray that the fruit of South Africa’s witness, service, influence and partnerships would go beyond national recognition and help the nations know You and advance Your Kingdom. Be merciful to us and bless us, and let Your face shine on us, so that Your way is known on earth and Your salvation among all nations. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, because You judge fairly and guide every people. Let the earth be filled with the knowledge of Your glory, as the waters cover the sea. Make us a city on a hill, so that our good works lead people to glorify You, our Father in heaven. In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Week 19
Father, we thank You for South Africa. You have placed us here for a purpose, made us from one blood, and set our times and boundaries. You are near whenever we call on You.
You give us wisdom from above as we speak truth, defends the vulnerable and stands for justice. Your light and Your glory are rising over us, drawing the nations to You.
Thank You for reconciling us to Yourself through Jesus and giving us the ministry of reconciliation. You have equipped us as peacemakers, at home and abroad, able to carry Your ministry of reconciliation into places of conflict.
Thank You for training us Your Church to operate in Your gifts among the partnerships You are forming throughout the nations. Father, only You can bring the increase. Only You can bring relief and deliverance as You graciously invite us to take our place in what You are doing. Thank You for all You do for us.
We pray in the mighty name of Christ Jesus.
Amen.
