WEEK 21: STEPPING INTO OUR APOSTOLIC MANDATE – A NATION SENT
Day 136 (14 October 2026)
Theme: Sent Into Every Sphere
Action item 1: Pray for Believers to Discern Their Place of Kingdom Assignment.
John 20:21 “So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
1 Corinthians 7:17 “But as God has distributed to each one, as the Lord has called each one, so let him walk. And so I ordain in all the churches.”
Colossians 3:23-24 “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
- Father, Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” We repent for not recognizing that You have positioned us in our professions, vocations, communities and spheres of influence as a Kingdom assignment to make a difference where we are. We acknowledge we are being sent. Let His presence go with us. Guide us knowing that we each have our own place in life where You want us, as we go about our daily responsibilities as the light of the world. Help us walk faithfully in our place. Whatever we do, help us to do it with all our heart, as for You and not for people. May we be worthy of receiving the reward of the inheritance Christ has for me. We pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Action item 2: Pray for Kingdom Values to be Embodied in Every Sphere of Society.
Matthew 5:13-16 “’You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
Micah 6:8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?“
Philippians 2:14-16” Do all things without complaining and disputing, 15that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.”
- Father, we repent for not living out Your values in the place You have sent us. Equip us as we move forward carrying the character and government of Christ in our sphere of society. As we are the salt of the earth, may our influence season and preserve through righteousness, truth, justice, integrity, excellence, compassion and wisdom. In areas where darkness is prevailing, may Your light shine before men so that they may see our good work and glorify You, Father. You have shown us what is good. Help us to do justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly before You, Lord. Put a guard before our mouths that we do all things without complaining and arguing. May we walk blameless before You, without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Action item 3: Pray for the Church to Move from Presence to Transformative Influence.
Jeremiah 29:7 “And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”
Daniel 6:3-4 “Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm. 4So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.”
1 Peter 4:10-11 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
- Father, we repent for the times we were present in our workplaces, communities and institutions, but made no difference for You. Move us, Your Church, from simply going to work to advancing righteous Kingdom purposes. Create opportunities for us to steward our gifts in excellence, exercise righteous authority, show expertise, build healthy relationships, as we serve people and strengthen institutions. Teach us to pray for the peace of the city where You have placed us, because when it has peace, we will have peace. Give us the spirit that Daniel had. Let our excellence be visible in our honesty, , ability to solve problems and excellence of work. May no one find fault with our work ethic because we are found faithful in conduct. Teach us to be good stewards of Your grace. When we speak, let us speak Your words. When we serve, let us serve in humility and with the strength You give, so that You are glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
