WEEK 11: THE CHURCH AS GOD’S TRANSFORMING AGENT

Day 76 (15 August 2026)

Theme: The Church as a Builder of Righteous Foundations

God does not merely restore people; He restores foundations. A mature Church must therefore move beyond responding to brokenness and become intentional about building what is righteous, enduring, and generational. Through wise leadership, faithful stewardship, sound doctrine, godly families, ethical institutions, and Kingdom-minded engagement, the Church can help establish foundations upon which future generations can build.

Action item 1: Pray that the Church will become intentional builders of righteous foundations.

1 Corinthians 3:10-11 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation… 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Psalm 11:3 “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Proverbs 24:3-4 “Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: 4And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.”

  • Father make Your Church a wise and intentional builder. Where foundations have been destroyed, teach us how to rebuild according to Your wisdom. Deliver us from continually responding to the consequences of broken systems without addressing the foundations beneath them. Establish Christ as the foundation of everything we build. Let our churches, families, ministries, businesses, institutions, and communities be built upon truth, righteousness, wisdom, integrity, and obedience to Your Word. Give Your people the wisdom to build what will endure beyond our generation. Let us not build merely for immediate results or recognition, but for the purposes of God and the generations yet to come. We pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Action item 2: Pray that the Church will build structures and institutions that serve the purposes of God.

Isaiah 58:12 “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations…”

Nehemiah 2:18Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

Exodus 31:2-3 “See, I have called by name Bezaleel… 3And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.”

  • Lord, awaken the builder in Your Church. Raise people who carry vision, wisdom, skill, creativity, courage, and perseverance to build structures that serve humanity and advance righteousness. Give Your people the capacity to establish schools, businesses, ministries, community initiatives, media platforms, training institutions, social programmes, and other structures that become instruments of Kingdom influence. Teach us that building is also ministry. Let excellence become an expression of worship and let the skills and abilities You have placed within Your people be released for the good of society. Where South Africa has experienced broken institutions, raise righteous builders who will not merely criticise what is broken but will take responsibility for rebuilding what is needed. May Your Church become known not only for what she opposes, but for what she builds. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Action item 3: Pray that what the Church builds will become a blessing to future generations.

Psalm 78:5-7For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: 6That the generation to come might know them… 7That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”

Proverbs 13:22 “A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children…”

Isaiah 61:4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

  • Father, give Your Church a generational vision. Deliver us from building only for ourselves. Teach us to ask what kind of nation, Church, families, institutions, and communities we are leaving for those who come after us. May the things we establish today become foundations upon which future generations can build. Let righteousness become an inheritance. Let wisdom become an inheritance. Let godly leadership, integrity, faithfulness, excellence, and Kingdom understanding become an inheritance. Raise a generation that will not have to start again from ruins because previous generations faithfully built and preserved what was entrusted to them. Let South Africa experience the blessing of foundations that endure and generations that know the Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
