Week 3: Covenant Renewal & Healing the Land
Additional Scriptural Anchors for Week 3:
- 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
- Genesis 2:15: “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
- Deuteronomy 28:3-5: “Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.”
Day 16 (16 Feb): Restoring the Covenant Foundations of the Land
Action item 1: Rebuilding Godly Boundaries (Restoring the Fences)
Jeremiah 33:25 “Thus says the LORD: If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth…”
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
- Father, in the beginning You created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1), and Your Word declares that the earth is Yours and everything in it (Psalm 24:1). We acknowledge that South Africa does not belong to man, political systems, or history – it belongs to You. We enthrone You as Lord and rightful Owner over this land, its resources, its people, and its future.
Action item 2: Renouncing the Curses of Disobedience
Deuteronomy 28:38-40 “You shall carry much seed out to the field but gather little in, for the locust shall consume it. You shall plant vineyards and tend them, but you shall neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. You shall have olive trees throughout all your territory, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives shall drop off.”
- Lord, Your Word in Deuteronomy 28:38-40 warns that disobedience leads to loss, barrenness, and fruitless labour. We repent for every national act of rebellion against Your covenant ways. We renounce the curses of wasted harvest, economic frustration, corruption, and unproductive toil. By Your mercy, break cycles of loss and restore what has been diminished because of disobedience.
Action item 3: Declaring the Blessings of Obedience and National Alignment
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”
- Father, as we realign with You, we declare the blessings of obedience over South Africa (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). Let our land produce abundantly, let our labour yield fruit, and let righteousness exalt this nation. As we return to our divine mandate to tend and guard what belongs to You, may this land flourish under Your Lordship and reflect Your Kingdom values.
