Week 7: Standing in the Ancient Paths
Day 44 (16 March 2026)
Restoring the Authority of God’s Word
Action Item 1: Establishing God’s Word as the only Authority
Psalm 119:89-90 “Forever, O Lord, Your Word is settled in heaven 90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations; You establish the earth, and it abides”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Matthew 4:4 “He answered them and said, ‘it is written Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God’”
- Lord, Your word is eternal and established in heaven according to Psalm 119:89. What You have spoken cannot be changed, shaken or be nullified. As You have established the heavens, establish Your Word in my life, in my family and in the generations to come. Your truth remains firm and unshakeable, guiding our decisions and shaping our future according to Your will.
- Lord, we come before You acknowledging that Your Word is LIFE according to Hebrews 4:12. Bring our circumstances in line with Your Word through the power and authority in Your Word. Your Word brings life, healing, deliverance and restoration. Establish Your Word over our lives and our nation. Let Your truth remain firm and unshakeable, guiding our decisions and shaping our future according to Your will.
- Father, we acknowledge that life comes from Your Word. Teach me to live according to Your Word daily. Let Your Word nourish us as You lead us in paths of righteousness. Give us a hunger for Your Word and a heart that listens to Your voice. Let Your truth guide our thoughts, strengthen our faith and direct our steps.
Action Item 2: God’s Word Governs our Lives
Isaiah 55:11 “so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My Word like fire? Says the Lord, and a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?”.
Psalm 107:20 “He sent His word and healed them. And delivered them from their destructions”
- Father, we declare that the Word is living, powerful and unfailing. According to Isaiah 55:11, it never returns void and accomplishes the purpose for which You send it. As Your Word goes forth with power and authority, let every promise You have spoken be fulfilled. We declare Your Word will prosper in every area of our lives, families, work, communities and land. Break every obstacle and every resistance to establishing Your purposes in our lives. May Your Word prosper and bear lasting fruit in everything You have ordained in the name of Jesus.
- Lord, we repent for every area where we were stubborn and resisted Your Word. Forgive us and let the fire of Your Word purify our hearts, consume every form of deception, compromise and spiritual dullness in our lives. Let Your hammer break every hard place, stronghold and resistance to Your Truth.
- Lord, You came to restore us in every area, we ask You to send Your Word to bring healing and deliverance to every area. Where there is sickness, speak healing. Where there is destruction, speak restoration. Let Your truth break every chain and deliver us from every form of bondage. Release Your Word over us so that healing, freedom and restoration may flow according to Your promises.
Action Item 3: Meditating on the Word makes your way prosperous
Joshua 1:8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will have good success”
Psalm 1:1-3 “His delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law, he meditates day and night…, and whatever he does shall prosper.”
- Father, ignite a hunger in us as we keep Your Word continually on our lips and in our hearts in accordance with Joshua 1:8. Teach us to meditate on Your Word day and night so that our words, thoughts, and actions align with Your will. Let Your Word guide our lives and our nation so that we walk in wisdom, righteousness and prosperity.
- Lord, we thank You for the Blessing that comes from walking in Your ways. Direct our paths away from all ungodly counsel. Revive our hearts as we delight in Your Word and meditate on it day and night. Let Your Truth guide our thoughts, decisions and actions that we may be like trees firmly planted by streams of water.
