WEEK 12: KINGDOM LEADERSHIP AND INFLUENCE IN EVERY SPHERE
Day 78 (17 August 2026)
Theme: The Call to Kingdom Leadership
God’s restoration of a nation is not complete when righteous foundations are established; those foundations must be stewarded by people who are willing to carry responsibility. Kingdom leadership begins with recognising that influence is an assignment from God. He calls His people not merely to pray for righteous leaders, but to become the leaders He has prepared i.e. people who will carry His wisdom, values, justice, and purposes into every sphere of society.
Action item 1: Pray that God’s people will recognise their call to leadership and responsibility.
Genesis 1:26 (NKJV) “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Matthew 5:14 (KJV) “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.”
1 Peter 2:9 (NKJV) “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;”
- Father in the mighty name of Jesus, we ask that You awaken Your people to the responsibility of Kingdom leadership. Help us understand that influence is not merely a privilege, it is an assignment. Where You have placed us, teach us to recognise the opportunities You have given us to lead, serve, influence, and bring Kingdom values into our environments. Deliver us from false humility that causes us to shrink from responsibility, and from ambition that seeks position without character. Raise men and women who understand that leadership begins with stewardship. Let Your people recognise that You have called them to exercise godly influence in their families, workplaces, communities, institutions, and throughout society. May the Church in South Africa no longer see leadership as something reserved for a select few. Awaken a generation that understands its responsibility to lead wherever You have positioned it. Amen.
Action item 2: Pray that God’s people will respond to leadership responsibility with courage.
Joshua 1:6–7 (NKJV) “Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance, the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.”
Esther 4:14 (NKJV) “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
- Lord, remove fear from those You are calling into positions of influence. Where Your people have remained silent because they feared rejection, failure, opposition, or the responsibility of leadership, give them courage to answer Your call. As You strengthened Joshua to lead Israel and positioned Esther for her appointed moment, help Your people recognise that their placement is purposeful. Give Kingdom leaders courage to enter difficult spaces, make righteous decisions, confront injustice, carry responsibility, and stand for truth when it is costly. Deliver us from waiting for someone else to do what You have equipped us to do. Let the people You have prepared arise with courage and humility and take their rightful place; we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Action item 3: Pray that God will raise leaders prepared to carry His purposes into every sphere.
Daniel 2:21 (NKJV) “And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.”
Proverbs 29:2 (KJV) “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
Isaiah 9:6–7 (NKJV) “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
- Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, raise the leaders You have prepared for this season in South Africa. Position righteous men and women in the places where their influence can serve Your purposes. Raise leaders in government, business, education, law, healthcare, media, the arts, community development, family structures, and every other sphere of society. Give them the wisdom to govern, the humility to serve, the courage to act justly, and the discernment to recognise the times in which they have been placed. Let leadership in South Africa increasingly reflect Your heart for justice, righteousness, truth, and the flourishing of people. Establish leaders who understand that authority is entrusted by God and must therefore be exercised with accountability. May this nation experience the blessing of righteous people accepting the responsibility to lead. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
