Genesis 11:1-9
- Now the whole earth had one language, and of one speech.
- And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and they dwelt there.
- Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar.
- And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.”
- 5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built.
- And the LORD said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
- Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”
- So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city.
- Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Action item 1: When Unity determines Outcoming
Genesis 11:6 And the LORD said the people is one, they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Psalm 133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is…For brethren to dwell together in unity!… For there the Lord commanded the Blessing.
- Lord, many times our words have aligned with what our eyes are seeing in the natural. We have repeated narratives reinforcing and strengthening the enemy’s stronghold on our families and nation. We repent for aligning with an ungodly system,
- We repent for not picking up our shields of faith to stop the fiery darts against our nation and its people.
Action item 2: Align (purify) our speech
Isaiah 6:6-7 …the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal… 7And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”
Zephaniah 3:9 For then I will purify the lips of the people, that all of them may call on the Name of the Lord…
- Purify our lips, Father God, as we meditate on your Word.
- Revoke any legal right we have given the enemy through our un-pure lips and take away our iniquity and we glorify you for giving us a new start.
Action item 3: When nations plot vain things, Believers pray
Ps 144:1…who trains my hands for war…
Acts 4:24 When they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
25 who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: ‘Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?
26 The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’
31And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken;
- Lord, your Word says You will train our hands for war. Teach us how to use our spiritual weapons, our Shield of Faith and our Sword of the spirit to bring about Your Sovereignty on earth.
- According to Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against Your leaders and people will prosper, every tongue which rises against us in judgment we will condemn.
- Lord we thank You that as we pray in unity, You will restrict the works of the evil one according to Psalm 2.
