Day 20 (20 Feb): Purifying the Heart of the Church for National Authority
Additional Scriptural Anchors for Week 3:
- 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
- Genesis 2:15: “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
- Deuteronomy 28:3-5: “Blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the country. Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, the produce of your ground and the increase of your herds, the increase of your cattle and the offspring of your flocks. Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.”
Action item 1: Cleansing from Bitterness
Hebrews 12:15 “lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.”
- Father, we repent for every root of bitterness, resentment, and offense that has taken root in the Church. Where we have allowed disappointment with leaders or national events to harden our hearts, cleanse us. Remove defilement from our spirits so that our prayers carry authority again
Action item 2: Restoring Love and Unity in the Body
Psalm 133:1“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
- Father, as we forgive and release offense, restore our spiritual authority in this land. Let the Church rise purified and aligned with Your heart. Where bitterness weakened our voice, let forgiveness strengthen it. Establish us again as watchmen over South Africa
Action item 3: Reclaiming Spiritual Authority Through Forgiveness
Matthew 5:8“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
- Lord, forgive us where division, criticism, and suspicion have weakened the unity of the Church. Restore brotherly love and spiritual alignment among believers in South Africa. Make us one in heart and purpose so that we may stand strong in intercession for this nation.
