Week 7: Standing in the Ancient Paths
Day 48 (20 March 2026)
Day 6: Restore Families and Generational Faith
Action Item 1: Repent for Generational Unfaithfulness
Daniel 9:5 “we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments”
Psalm 78:5–7 “For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.”
- Father, in the name of Jesus we pray according to Daniel 9:5, we confess that we have sinned, committed iniquity, acted wickedly, and rebelled by departing from Your path and Your judgments. We repent on behalf of ourselves and our forefathers for every act of disobedience, rebellion, prayerlessness, spiritual neglect, and every way we turned away from Your truth. Forgive us, Lord, and remove every legal ground the enemy has gained through generational sin and disobedience.
- Father, according to Psalm 78:5–7, establish Your testimony in our families again. Restore the teaching of Your Word from one generation to the next. Break every cycle of spiritual neglect, compromise, and silence concerning Your truth. Raise up parents who will diligently teach their children Your ways, so that the next generation will set their hope in You, not forget Your works, and keep Your commandments.
Action item 2: Rebuilding Family altars and teaching the next Generations
2 Timothy 1:5“When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.”
Genesis 18:19 “For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.”
- Father, we pray in the name of Jesus, awaken the genuine faith within our families that is spoken of in 2 Timothy 1:5—a faith that is passed down through generations. Let that same faith arise boldly in us and become a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness.
- Lord, rebuild the family altar in our homes that the Lord may say of us as He did of Abraham in Genesis 18:19 “I have known him, that he may command his children, that they keep the way of the Lord.”
- Lord we pray; restore prayer, worship and the reading of Your Word in our homes. Remove all distractions that turn our attention away from You. Teach us to seek You daily and to make Your presence the centre of our households.
- Lord, give us grace to disciple the next generation intentionally. Help us to train our children in righteousness, to walk in integrity, and to lead with love in truth. May our homes become testimony where Christ is exalted.
Action item 3: Restore Unity, Honour, and a new Generational Legacy
Malachi 4:6 “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
Joel 2:25“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…”
- Lord, according to Malachi 4:6, turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. Heal every broken relationship in our families. Remove division, bitterness, offence and rejection. Restore love, honour, understanding, and unity in our homes. Let estranged children return, let reconciliation flow where the enemy has tried to divide through pain in Jesus name.
- Father, restore honour within our families. Teach us to speak with grace, to forgive quickly, and to value each other according to Your heart. Break every pattern of dishonour, pride, stubbornness, and generational conflict. Establish humility, peace, and mutual respect in every relationship.
- Lord, we beseech You according to Joel 2:25, restore every year and every blessing that has been lost in our families. Let there be divine recovery of time, peace, identity and spiritual inheritance that was stolen, delayed, or neglected. Bring supernatural restoration in every broken relationship.
- We declare a complete generational restoration. Lord, what was broken, we ask you to rebuild. What was lost, recover. What was divided, heal. Our families will walk in the righteousness, love, truth, and the blessing of God. Our children and future generations will walk in truth and carry Your presence. They will not turn aside, but will remain rooted, and established in You in the name of Jesus.
