Pursuing Righteous Living
Theme Scripture: Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Action item1: Prioritise God’s Kingdom in daily life
Colossians 3:2 “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Matthew 22:37 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.”
Jeremiah 29:13 “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”
- Kingdom Focus: Father, help us to set our minds on heavenly things and prioritise Your Kingdom as stated in Colossians 3:2.
- Undivided Devotion: Lord, as Your word admonishes us in Matthew 22:37, we pray asking You to give us undivided hearts that love You fully in Jesus’ name.
- Consistent Seeking: Father, as Jeremiah 29:13 teaches us, we ask that You stir in us a passion to seek You wholeheartedly every day in Jesus’ name.
Action item 2: Establish Righteousness as a lifestyle
Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”
1 Peter 1:15-16 “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’”
Philippians 1:11 “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”
- Righteous Living: Lord, establish righteousness in every believer’s life and in our nation because Your word says righteousness exalts a nation Proverbs 14:34.
- Pursuit of Holiness: Help us, Your church O Father to live holy lives that reflects Your nature in the likeness of Your nature in Jesus’ name (1 Peter 1:15-16).
- Fruit of Righteousness: Lord, let our lives produce the fruit of righteousness for Your glory in accordance to Philippians 1:11.
Action item 3: Desire and Pursue spiritual Growth
1 Peter 2:2 “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”
Romans 12:2 “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”
Hebrews 6:1 “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection…”
- Hunger for Growth: Father, we ask that You grant us a deep hunger for Your Word so that we may grow in accordance with 1 Peter 2:2.
- Transformation of Mind: Lord, in accordance with Romans 12:2, please renew our minds and transform us to reflect Your will.
- Maturity in Christ: Father, Your word in Hebrews 6:1 teaches us to leave discussions of the elementary principles of Christ, and to go on to perfection, help us Father and lead us into spiritual maturity and deeper relationship with You.
