Standing in the Gap: Building a National Wall of Intercession
ACTION ITEM: Establish covenant inheritance across generations. Raise watchmen over every mountain and establish divine order at the gates.
Prayer point 1: Pray asking God to raise Intercessors who will stand in the gap for South Africa
Ezekiel 22:30 “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.”
- Father, according to Ezekiel 22:30, You searched for those who would stand in the gap for the land. We ask You now to raise intercessors across South Africa who will build a wall of prayer around this nation.
- Let there not be a shortage of those who carry the burden for righteousness. Stir churches, families, leaders, and young people to stand before You on behalf of the land. Where apathy has weakened prayer, awaken urgency. Where discouragement has silenced voices, restore perseverance.
- We declare that South Africa will not lack gap-standers. A wall of intercession is rising in the name of Jesus.
Prayer point 2: Establish Righteous Speech Over Our Cities
Proverbs 11:11 “By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.”
- Lord, Your Word declares that cities are exalted by the blessing of the upright. We repent for words that have cursed our nation through negativity, fear, and hopelessness.
- We speak blessing over our cities – Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Gqeberha etc. and over every province. Let righteous voices outnumber corrupt counsel. Silence destructive narratives and raise leaders, journalists, educators, and pastors who will speak wisdom and truth.
- We declare that our cities will rise through righteous speech and not be overthrown by wicked mouths.
Prayer point 3: Pray that God Be a Wall of Fire Around the Nation
Zechariah 2:5 “For I, says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.”
- Father, be a wall of fire around South Africa. Surround our borders, our institutions, our infrastructure, and our communities with Your divine protection.
- Guard this nation from internal decay and external destabilization. Protect leadership transitions, economic structures, and social systems from collapse.
- Let Your glory be in the midst of this land – not corruption, not violence, not division _- but Your manifest presence bringing stability and righteousness.
- We declare that South Africa is surrounded by divine fire and sustained by heavenly glory, in the name Jesus.
