The Identity of Light Bearers
Action Item 1: Affirm our identity in Christ as Light
Prayer Point: Lord, awaken us to our Kingdom destinies as carriers of Your light – let us no longer walk in obscurity or compromise.
1 Peter 2:9: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light.”
- Father, in the name of Jesus, we stand as Your Church in South Africa, acknowledging that we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation set apart to proclaim Your excellencies. Awaken us to our true identity as carriers of Your light. Where we have embraced lesser identities, we repent and realign with Your truth. Let Your light arise within us as a people, that we may reveal Your glory in this nation.
Action Item 2. Repent for Areas where your light has been hidden
Prayer Point: Father, forgive us for dimming our light through fear, disobedience, or silence – refine us again
Luke 11:33 “No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light.”
- Lord, we repent as Your Church for hiding our light through fear, compromise, and silence. Forgive us for withdrawing from spaces where You called us to shine. Cleanse us from passivity and restore boldness within us. Cause us to take our rightful place as visible witnesses of Your truth in every sphere of society in the name of Jesus we pray.
Action item 3. Commit to living visibly for Christ
Prayer Point: Holy Spirit, empower us to live boldly and visibly, that our lives may reflect Your glory in all spaces
Philippians 2:15: ” “That you may be blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”
Holy Spirit, empower us as a unified Church to shine as lights in the midst of darkness and corruption. Let our lives collectively reflect purity, truth, and righteousness. Make us a visible expression of Your Kingdom, that through our witness, many in South Africa may turn and glorify You, we pray in Jesus’ name.
