Day 1: Personal and Corporate Repentance
Action Item 1: Begin with self-examination and confession of personal sins.
Prayer Points:
- Lord, search my heart and reveal any hidden sin or compromise; I confess and repent of every area that displeases You.
- Father, cleanse me from pride, unforgiveness, and apathy; create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me according to Psalm 51:10.
- I surrender my life afresh, asking for Your grace to walk in purity and humility.
Actions Item 2: Repent corporately (church) for the sins of the Church and the nation – apathy, injustice, corruption, division, and idolatry.
Prayer Points:
- Father, we repent for the sins of Your Church in South Africa – where we have been silent, divided, or failed to reflect Your love and justice.
- We confess the sins of our nation: corruption, injustice, violence, and idolatry. Forgive us and heal our land according to 2 Chronicles 7:14.
- Lord Jesus unite Your people in true repentance and restore the Church as a beacon of righteousness and hope.
Action Item 3: Use Psalm 51 as a model prayer, asking God to create in us (His Church) a clean heart and renew a right spirit.
Prayer Points:
- Father, we ask You to cleanse our hearts from every impurity, selfish motive, and hidden sin. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within us according to Psalm 51:10
- Lord, remove every attitude of pride, bitterness, and unforgiveness from our hearts. Restore right motives and a spirit of humility and love in Your people in accordance to Psalm 51:17 – “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.”
- Holy Spirit, renew our commitment to, and empower us to walk in purity and holiness. Let our lives reflect Your character and bring glory to Your name in South Africa. According to 1 Peter 1:15-16 “But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy.’”
Action Item 4: Enter into a Fast (3 days) as an act of humility and surrender, acknowledging our total dependence on God (Esther’s model).
Prayer Points:
- As we fast, we humble ourselves before You, acknowledging our total dependence on Your mercy and power to turn the wrath of God against South Africa (Esther’s model).
- Let this act of surrender break every stronghold of pride and self-reliance in our lives and nation.
- May our fasting and prayers open the gates for Your presence and transformation in South Africa.
